To start a Return
If you would like to make a return, please start the process by emailing returns@deargolden.com within 2 days of receiving your order. If your order is eligible for a return, you will be issued a Return Label. Your return needs to be back at our shop 7 days from the first attempted delivery. Returns after 7 days will not be accepted. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and original shipping costs are non-refundable. Once we receive your return, your store credit will be e-mailed to you in the form of a coupon code. Customers are responsible for retaining their store credit code. If you lose your store credit code we are not responsible for issuing a new one. Store credits are good for one year from the day of issue. All purchases with store credit are final sale.
Exchanges We do not have an exchange service at the moment. If you would like to exchange your purchase you may start a return and then purchase the item you would like. You will be refunded your original payment after the return arrives at the shop.
Order Cancellation
We are not able to change or cancel an order once it has been placed. Please be sure you are ready to make your purchase before ordering.
Out of Stock
We have the same inventory online as we do in store. Occasionally, there may be an inventory discrepancy or error and something you order online may be out of stock. In this case, you will be emailed and asked if you'd like something else or the order will be canceled and refunded.
Store Credit
Upon receiving your return, you will be issued a store credit in the means of a coupon code to be used online or in person at the shop. Store credit is good for one year from the date of being issued. After one year, all store credits expire. Customers are responsible for retaining their store credit code. If customers lose their code, DEAR GOLDEN is not responsible for issuing a new one and store credit is forfeited.
Selling Your Vintage
Yes, we buy vintage! If you have items to sell, please send an email to lauren@deargolden.com. We love it when you can send photos and any info you have about the items. Alternatively, you can bring items to the shop and we will have a look at them. If you do leave the vintage you'd like to sell at the shop we will get back to you within 2 days. Please note that if you bring items in and leave them at the shop for more than 10 days those items will be either donated or retained, we cannot hold items for more than 10 days.
VINTAGE RETURNS
✩ SELECT CAREFULLY AS ALL VINTAGE SALES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL ✩
Though all sales are considered final returns are reviewed on a case by case basis, primarily only if there was a significant error in the listing. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Because great care is taken to provide accurate measurements on each garment, returns due to poor fit are not accepted. Returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Items from the 1920's and earlier are non-returnable due to their fragile nature.
To ensure your item is well suited for you, please read the vintage sizing information below & double-check and compare the listing size and your own size to get the best fit. If you are unsure and have a question about the size or appearance of an item, contact me and I will gladly send you more pictures or take additional measurements. It is important that you love your Dear Golden purchase!
✩ SIZING INFORMATION ✩
Vintage clothing fits differently than modern clothing, which is cut loosely to fit a wide variety of body shapes. Vintage clothing is cut much closer to the body than you may be used to. For this reason, it is important that you allow enough wearing ease to move comfortably while wearing your vintage garment. Vintage garments should always be worn with care and consideration of their age.
Vintage garments were often tailored to fit an individual woman and evidence of seams and darts being taken in or out is not uncommon. For this reason, it is often possible to have a vintage garment altered to fit you if your measurements are off by just a bit. I am happy to answer any questions about available seam allowances, darts, and hem allowances before you purchase.
✩ MEASURING YOURSELF ✩
Use a dressmaker’s tape measure, which you can get at your local fabric store.
Measure yourself over the undergarments you plan to wear & not over your clothing.
BUST: measure over the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra.
UNDERBUST: measure around the fullest part of your ribcage, about midway between your bust and waist.
WAIST: measure around the smallest point of your waist where it naturally curves in.
HIP: measure around the fullest part of your hips. This is usually about 8"-9" below your waist.
SHOULDER TO WAIST: Measure from the top of your shoulder, where a normal shoulder seam would lie, down the front, following the curve of your bust.
LENGTH: measure from the top of your shoulder, where a normal shoulder seam would lie, down the front, to the point you want the garment to end at the hem.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a message before purchasing.
