Vintage 1930s/1940s hand-made, hand-stitched quilt made by Marvel M. Tolar (born 1891, died 1977) in Alabama using pieces and scraps of her dresses. This dress was purchased from the quilt makers granddaughter who says she remembers seeing her grandmother in dresses that were the same as seen in the quilt. This is a very heavy and very warm quilt, thick with flannel backing and is for the winter.
